The Rhythm Veil
By Naturespace · 2 reviews ·
Cloaked in a shroud of nightsong, the invisibles move unseen, wandering paths only they can perceive. The nocturnal are gifted with extraordinary skills, in tune with hidden networks and unseen patterns. Their lives are intricately connected, forming a web of awareness that links them to one another. Space and time flow differently for beings with 17-year cycles; their patterns echo through the timeless forest… ever-changing, yet always familiar. The katydids call to order the collective, like a conductor guiding impatient musicians. Their rhythm becomes hypnotic, undulating and pulsating in a hemisphere of entrainment, synchronizing all who enter into the sublime dream of time across eons… the forever song. And the invisibles who roam within. Entrainment is a natural process where the rhythms of the body align with external patterns in the environment. This exceptionally long track is crafted to immerse you in the forest's natural groove, gently creating a deeply effective ambience over speakers for sleeping and promoting steady focus under headphones. It is layered with countless subtle details: frogs, crickets, katydids, whippoorwills, and bats orbit the listener across vast distances, while the heart of the forest hums with serene harmony. This track took months of recording to capture this uniquely magical evening, a harmonious and benevolent convergence unlike any other night from this remarkable location.

I love noise generator apps. I alternate between Naturespace and myNoise to focus on tasks, but I use Naturespace when I go to go to bed every night. I’ve used Naturespace for years, and all I’ve ever wanted is a katydid track. Katydids are a special sound to me, as they make me think of home and the nature from where I grew up. Thank you so much for making this track. It’s amazing and everything I’ve ever wanted.
This is deeply nostalgic for me, as it sounds so much like the soundscape I grew up with at my dad’s house in northeastern PA. I’m happy to report that it is now nestled in an area that has been bought up by the Nature Conservancy, protecting the valley that surrounds him from further encroachment and development. I’m immediately transported to those nights I spent there, the window cracked to let in the cool air and this symphony of the night.
