I love noise generator apps. I alternate between Naturespace and myNoise to focus on tasks, but I use Naturespace when I go to go to bed every night. I’ve used Naturespace for years, and all I’ve ever wanted is a katydid track. Katydids are a special sound to me, as they make me think of home and the nature from where I grew up. This is deeply nostalgic for me, as it sounds so much like the soundscape I grew up with at my dad’s house in northeastern PA. I’m happy to report that it is now nestled in an area that has been bought up by the Nature Conservancy, protecting the valley that surrounds him from further encroachment and development. I’m immediately transported to those nights I spent there, the window cracked to let in the cool air and this symphony of the night.
