전기 어린 사막의 석양

해가 하늘과 땅의 경계 아래로 가라앉자 기온이 빠르게 떨어진다. 식어가는 공기 속에서 하늘은 붉게 물들고, 이내 깊은 진홍의 빛으로 잠긴다. 바람은 일정한 흐름으로 협곡을 가로지르며 마른 잎과 풀을 스친다. 부드럽고 고른 귀뚜라미 소리가 저녁을 앞두고 몸을 푸는 듯 이어지고, 별들이 하나씩 떠오른다. 새와 벌레들은 분주히 오가며 하루의 움직임을 거두고, 은하수의 희미한 빛 아래 서늘하고 건조한 밤을 맞을 준비를 한다. 붉은 흙은 낮의 열을 머금은 채 아직 따뜻하고, 그 열을 열린 하늘로 내보낸다. 멀리서 이상한 개구리들이 가끔 불쑥 소리를 던진다. 아주 먼 곳에서 바람이 밀려오는 소리가 먼저 닿으며 이 공간의 너비가 드러난다. 그 바람이 잦아들면 주변은 한 걸음 가까이 모여들 듯 친밀해졌다가, 또 다른 미풍이 사막 위를 떠돌며 소용돌이칠 때 다시 천천히 풀리듯 넓어진다. 이곳에는 작은 생명들이 곳곳에 살아 움직이며, 잔잔하면서도 또렷한 기운을 끊임없이 이어 흐르게 한다. 이 트랙은 매우 길고, 미세한 디테일과 변화가 많다. 대지 곳곳에 흩어진 무수한 의식의 점들이 만들어내는 활동이 선명한 낙관으로 맥동하며, 독서나 공부, 컴퓨터 작업 같은 깨어 있는 정신 활동에 잘 맞는다. 잠자기에는 다소 활발하다. 대신, 쉽게 빠져드는 장소다. 스피커로 틀면 공간에 생기를 더하고, 헤드폰으로 들으면 더욱 깊고 선명하게 몰입된다. 너무 크게 들으면 망가진다. 여기는 부드러운 공간이다.

I actually do enjoy this track for afternoon naps during the cold dark winter season and didn't find it to be too active for sleep as the description might suggest. I think it's quiet/active in ways that it needs to be and is very relaxing.
Many people think the desert is nothing but a harsh and desolate place devoid of life, but living in the southwest I know the stereotype isn't true. This track perfectly captures the kind of open serenity that only the vast spaces and rock cathedrals of the desert can provide. Various birds and insects call from a wide area, none very close. There is a true sense of vast open space here, both in the somewhat echoing quality provided by the canyon and in the auditory space between the wildlife. This place is teeming with life, but not at all crowded, loud or busy. The wind is a quiet and gentle backdrop also showcasing the vast sense of space. This track manages to perfectly capture the sound of wind coming from a long way off unique to the desert. This is also unique in the catalogue in that the wind you hear is just wind - just air swirling around rocks, no rustling leaves, which again equates to a much more serene and subtle wind experience than found in other tracks. The only other track that comes close to these qualities in the catalogue so far is The Ultraviolets, but Electric Desert Sunset is truly unique and I am glad that Naturespace has finally decided to give deserts a chance. I hope there might be more to come!
Amazing!! I love the crickets and winds. Bugs go buzzing by and I feel like I should swat at something! I will enjoy this at work and while doing things around the house. Y'all knock it out if the park every time.
