Thor

By Naturespace · 25 reviews ·

The Mighty, God of Thunder, Son of Odin and Mother Earth. Wielding his hammer Mjolnir, his vengeance was meted out with fire in his eyes. But because he did not require human sacrifice in order to honor him, he was loved by the people and seen as a protector and defender against evil. Thursday is named after him. The Thundergod tracks are arranged according to intensity and Thor has the most aggressive strikes and can be startling at times. A steady rain is throughout, and all the thunder is fierce.

This is a good one when you are furious. Just listening to the thunder doing its thing seems to remove all the hostilities within.

This is a SERIOUS storm. Don’t let the very beginning fool you. I literally jump like I would if it was real. Most people will probably not find this steady enough to sleep to, but fun to listen to. I love the lighting effects they have on the storm ones.

Awesome !! I actually looked up when I heard an unexpected crack of thunder. So funny! It's amazing how you feel your right there in it, but yet I'm comfortable, and dry in my office chair! I love it. Best app out here. Hands down!

This track gives me a sense that I got stuck out in a thunderstorm and am seeking shelter under a nylon awning of one of the local Shoppes. I can hear the rain beating down on a nylon-type surface. At times, the rain sounds like it is coming down at a slanted angle. Overhead thunder rumbles, claps, and booms sound fierce, menacing, and threatening. So realistic ... I can smell the rain!

My go-to sleep song. A very soothing storm, a bit of thunder sprinkled in, yet it doesn't feel threatening. And the new lightening flash feature is brilliant.

★★★★★

So atmospheric!! Got soaked listening, and the thunder is so constant, that it sounds like moving aeroplanes.

★★★★★

Very real. I love this track the most

This is like standing on the edge of a forest during the peak of a severe thunderstorm, and I don't think the strikes seem unrealistic at all from that standpoint. The rain is also fierce throughout even though it does ebb and flow (which adds to the realism). There is also some kind of buzzing insect in the distance at a few points, maybe something like a cicada. It's subtle and doesn't distract in any way, actually I think it adds a sense of the surrounding natural environment outside of just the storm. The Tesla track is actually less aggressive than this, even though it features more variety of thunder.

My favourite, love the crackle and rumble.

★★★★★

Awesome!! Sounds as if I'm right in the middle of the storm.

★★★★★

Hypnotic and relaxing, like being in the middle of a lush field as a storm rolls in.

The thunderstorm tracks are nothing short of spectacular on good headphones, believe me! When you get to one of the more intense lightning strikes, it really comes to life. Fantastic! Totally realistic. Do yourself a favor and listen on your best headphones.

Great sound! I really like the sound of the thunder. And I even better like the sound of Thor's thunder. I read one of the reviews before mine, where somebody said that this track would be to heavy to fall asleep. But I use this track specificly to fall asleep. It brings me the peace and rest to fall asleep. So, great track! Great sound! Lovely on headphones....(I use sennheiser behind-the-head headphones). And also great on speakers!

Thor is the first of six tracks in the Thundergod series. The Thundergod tracks are arranged according to intensity. Thor has the most aggressive strikes and can be startling at times. A steady rain is throughout, and all the thunder is fierce. Earth shaking and combative, Thor is very entertaining, but probably too aggressive for an ambience while sleeping.

★★★★★

This is the coolest thunderstorm track! It has just the right amount of rain and the thunder is very active.

★★★★★

Thor is awesome it can be a really relxing storm if you play it at a medium volume but if you play it real loud on good headphones it is downright scary. I use it both ways so its like 2 or 3 tracks in one for me. Very different from tesla (my favorite storm) which is more spread out like real life the thunder and lightning in Thor never stops. Thor is like Odin but much stronger. Odin is more chill.

Everyone in my family loves a good thunderstorm and we all agree this is a good thunder clapper! If a good thunderstorm relaxes you, then Thor will help you find peace and tranquility with the steady rain and constant grumbling from the thunder above.

★★★★★

This is an excellent track, if you like the sound of a dynamic thunderstorm with steady rain. I wouldn't recommend it for meditating or sleeping, because some of the strikes are powerful and sometimes forceful enough to be startling. It's an enjoyable track that's perfect for masking external noise.

WOW! Originally from the east coast. Loved hearing the rain and the loud thunder. Odd, but I found it to be soothing and comforting. I now live on the west coast and i'd be lucky to hear the rumble in June up in the mountains. Nothing like the east coast. How I miss it. This hits the mark....just love!

★★★★★

Disappointing. I already had Odin, which was a wonderful, distant, rolling thunder one could fall asleep to, and now I wanted some fireworks! Should have gotten Tesla. This is barely more thunder than Odin, and absolutely no sudden claps of thunder like I was hoping for. Lukewarm, baby thunder. Should have called it Baby Thor Learns to Thunder.

★★★★★

Thunder is not realistic ... But it didn't bother me .. In fact it sounds cool like an " out of this world" thunder sound. The rain is soothing

★★★★★

A powerful thunderstorm with bolts coming right at you. Certainly not a best choice to fall asleep, but to enjoy the power and majesty of a summer thunderstorm it is one of the best.

★★★★★

Great thunderstorm track! Very intense thunderstorm with loud claps of thunder and lower rumbling thunder in the distance. Steady, medium rainfall throughout.

★★★★★

Thanks to all above who posted their own reviews/perspectives on the tracks. I have been enjoying picking and buying new tracks by myself, but it's great to hear other people's descriptions (convinced me to buy Ice Wind just now). Hope to see more reviews, and thanks to the Naturespace people for such a wonderful app! For the record I love Soft Forest Rain and Thor!

This thunderstorm was aptly named. There are louder and lower sounding thunder rumbles. Often there is a louder crack of thunder followed by the sound of it rolling away into the distance. There is also a quiet rain and every once and a while you can briefly hear an insect of some kind chirping. This is the kind of thunderstorm I always kind of hope for when it gets like this outside. I don't have to wait for it anymore!
