I'm really loving the wind tracks and this one is no exception. This one has light wind with lots of crinkly dry grasses and the occasional bit of wildlife. I like to play this one loud as it gives a sense of strong wind but lower and it has a very soft and mellow vibe which is nice for sleeping and meditating too. My only bug bear is that it's a short track and loops frequently which you can notice because of a particular bird call and the lull in the wind at one spot. But overall I find the wind tracks great for increasing productivity while I work and I open up the windows in my home office, let the breeze in and pop on a wind track. Just magical. I'm using Audio Technica's ATH-M50x headphones and they work a treat with nature space tracks. I hang them on the bed head at night, turn up the volume and use them as room speakers for while I sleep.

This is also a favorite of mine from the Wind Category. Winds are present but not dominating the scene. Leaves and tall grasses rustle and dance in the wind. There is a presence of some type of wildlife moving about in the brush around you. Birds can be heard in the distant trees. Twigs and other items can be heard falling from the trees around you. Perhaps pine cones? ... Acorns? There is a gentle, soft cricket song in the background, so if you do not like crickets, this (hopefully) would not bother you. The crickets seem to appear in waves, they are not constant. Sounds very realistic.

Kind of a daytime, light version of "Moonlight", mild wind through tall grasses. On headphones it does sound like the leaves are right above your head. There are little flittery noises around, insects, fluctuations in the path of the wind. There's the sense of a warm afternoon. Nice for napping. Good on speakers and headphones.

By far my favorite of all the "Afternoon" tracks, mostly because I favor the sound of wind above all others, and there are few birds, which I find distracting when trying to read or sleep. It sounds like a breeze through a dry cornfield--perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.

In my opinion, there is much more to this track than wind. I suspect the person who felt it sounded like a tornado had it turned up too loud. There are crickets and flying insects, birds in the background, and the sounds of a squirrel and something that almost sounds like an elk to me, though I don't know how likely that is. I enjoy this track and find it a lot more relaxing than I thought I would from the other reviews.

Early summer or early-mid autumn afternoon. The sound of the breeze rattles stems and grasses all around and above in the sound space. Feels like being in the middle of a field of greenwaves under sun and breeze, or even in a cornfield. Ambient low sounds of insects give this a warm weather feeling that hums under the sound of the wind and rustle. Very active and also very relaxing. The full spectrum of sounds is most clear and distinct under the earbuds.

If you like the sounds of surf, rainfall, wind, and a crackling fire, then you're going to love this track because somehow it manages to sound a bit like all 4 of those things rolled into one. You hear strong waves of wind blowing through a field of something very tall. Corn, perhaps? This track is very active, yet very relaxing at the same time. It's a beautiful demonstration of the 3-D sound quality of the holographic recording technique. Not sure why Naturespace has put this track in the Afternoon category instead of the Wind category. This isn't really a multi-layered environmental recording. It's wind. The only other sound is from a couple of crickets which can be faintly heard in the mid-ground in stereo from the left and right channels, and only during a brief portion of the track. There's also the requisite fly fly-by that is something of a Naturespace signature. An extremely faint sound of some distant birds can be heard at one point--but they can only be discerned if the volume is up rather loud. My impressions. Unlike birds or water, wind seems a particularly difficult sound to capture and accurately reproduce. It's equally difficult to describe. Of the 6 major wind dominated tracks offered by Naturespace, this one seems to be the most detailed with the sound of the movement of plants caused by the wind. It has a very smooth and consistent ebb and flow throughout the track and seems endless thanks to the masterful seamless looping. You really hear the rattling of the tall plants on the ground as much as you hear the leaves and branches blowing through the trees above. The ground plant material seems to be quite dry as you can hear a lot of snapping and crackling--similar to the sounds of wood burning in a campfire. When the wind is at its strongest all that crackling also suggests the sound of rainfall. The constant blowing of wind through the trees has a very similar pitch to the sound of distant surf along a shoreline. Although the wind is strong in this track, it sounds less like white noise here than it does in the other wind specific tracks. If you're hesitant to buy a wind track, or you can only add one to your collection now, I would highly recommend this one in particular since it is reminiscent of other natural sounds with its detailed and complex quality.

To me this doesnt sound like a field of anything at all! But it's still a great track, it sounds like waves pounding by those big rocks and a fire in the back, but if it was wind, is it a Tornado?
