Pennello indiano

By Naturespace · 4 reviews ·

This track is perfect for a hot lazy afternoon. I own almost the entire Naturespace collection, and I've come to appreciate the unique tracks, like Indian Paintbrush, the most. (After awhile, you can only own so many morning bird tracks.) This sounds a lot like my childhood summers, running around in dry pine forests near a pond, with Pacific Tree Frogs croaking from the cool, dark cracks in the mud. I spent a lot of summers doing nothing but catching frogs in the heat. I don't think the species of frog in this recording is the Pacific Tree Frog, but it's close enough for me. There's a light breeze and the sound of a cool stream in the background of this track, providing the sense of space that Naturespace is known for. Insects are present, but quiet. The hummingbirds are as unique as the daytime frogs. If you've had any experience with hummingbirds, you'll enjoy the buzzing, flitting, squeaking sounds from this recording. I think this is one of my favorite afternoon tracks because it takes me back to my childhood. If the preview sounds good to you, I recommend picking it up. It's beautiful, and great for reading. Great job, Naturespace. I hope you continue to push the boundaries of traditional nature recordings.

This is the only track it date I've purchased and not known what to do with it. It's mostly an alpine stream with frogs, and the occasional hummingbird. It just doesn't capture my attention much to be honest. I've tried listening to it and meditating to it and aside from it having a nice gurgling water effect it doesn't do much for me. I wish I'd purchased one of the other tracks instead. Maybe it will grow on me.

This is a nice, relaxing track. There is a gentle song from the crickets, frogs and other creatures together with the constant sound of rushing water in a nearby stream. Occasionally, a hummingbird will stop by and you can hear the flutter from its wings, which is not distracting to me at all. The hummingbird visits are very brief and very well spaced throughout the track. We often have hummingbirds stop by our flower garden as well, but you can't hear the wing detail as you can in this track. Very realistic. I listen to this track quite often.

Croaking frogs along a small creek and the soft hum of insects create a spacious ambience. If you like tracks like Summer Mountain Valley or Utopia, the essential backdrop for this track will be appealing to you. Having a hummingbird garden myself, I can attest that Naturespace has perfectly captured the sound of hummingbirds darting about; both their tiny, buzzing wings and small, chirping calls. The hummingbird visitations are not continuous or particularly lengthy when they occur, but well spaced throughout, allowing ample time to relax into the surrounding environs while the occasional visitation keeps things bright and alert. This track has an over all wetter sound than I expected from the description. I was expecting maybe the sound of water droplets falling from leaves and grasses due to the mention of a previous rain, rather than the creek/frog combo, but I have no complaints about the actual track contents. The unique contribution of the hummers makes Indian Paintbrush stand out as distinct from other "nature sounds by a creek" offerings which are so abundant in the Naturespace catalogue. If you want an active track but are not the kind to appreciate loud bird calls, give this distinctive, airy track a try.
